I'm very familiar with Big Branch.  Lived very close by on one of the bayous for 13 years, then recently moved to Eden Isles in Slidell.  Glad you're enjoying it.  My daughter goes to LSU ... Geaux Tigers!

Claude,
Appreciate the comment; she is an older boat, and still a pleasure to sail. However, I just put her on the market, looking at a 36, but will still be happy if the deal doesn't fly.

Hi!! Just an eye on site. See you in Louisiana far south than me , here in Quebec Canada. We still under the snow, but sailing is coming slowly. I'm retired too, the best job ever. Saling St Laurence gulf and Chaleur's (??) Bay on a CS-30.

I had tied that knot for years where we just called it "the trucker's hitch", and it wasn't until I worked on a pipeline barge out of Gretna back in 1981 where the Cajun's on board had their own colorful name for it. So now I call it 3 different but similar names. 1- the Cajun Come-Along, 2- the vernacular "Coon-A@@ Come-Along" or the universally accepted 3rd form- Louisiana Purchase.
