Howdy Todd from the Banana Wind ..or shall we say the Banana wind project ..hehe ...its going to be awhile before she sails again ..but we have a good work plan worked out for her. Meanwhile, we have a 20 foor trailerable rig to tinker with and day sail on until the Bwind comes to fruition ...happy sailing!

Watergate is close enough to channel that you can typically go out. I draw 4'-3" so can get out when some of my friends can't. I'm a bit more hesitant now tho, not knowing what might be underneath due to Ike ...

Thanks. Why don't you join our Galveston Bay & Texas Coastal Sailors group? I'm in Watergate - several friends there and in Waterford. Maybe we'll see you on the bay.

What is your boat? The picture looks very similar to my Pacific Seacraft Orion.

Advice/Experience/Suggestions for Bareboat Charter in the San Juan Islands We are looking into a sailing vacation in the San Juan Islands this summer, and I would really appreciate any knowledge, information, pros & cons, you might have of the charter companies, sailing in the area, good anchorages, weather and temps in June vs. summer prime season, etc. .... anything ;) Thanks.

Wish I could bring mine on the boat, too .... I'm in Watergate - what marina are you in? Did you survive IKE? Sail in the Harvest Moon?

Weeeeeeell, my hound is become tooooooo comfy with the mat. Today he rolled off twice, cause he lays down on it and wants to sack out. I had to excesive heel time to time to keep his attention, lol. He can really get a hold if he would just stay on his feet
I dont think he felt good today.

It has been a windy spring and summer so far, our little boat does well in the 20 - 25 range, but its a little exciting for visitors sometimes. I will try the matting and see how he likes it. The Texas spiniker belongs to someone in our cruising club www.TMCA.nu. good luck in the races, they have them on Wed. nights down on Clear Lake.

I got some anti-fatigue rubber mating (with the holes) to cut-to-fit and tie on the deck to keep mine on board. Looks like ye got plenty of tie off points to work with. No need to cover the whole deck, just where ye want him to be most of the time (or the spot he favors). He'll feel more content with the experience, guaranteed! He is a he?

Is that yer Texas spinnaker? That's cool!

Ive googled my boat and found the recommend spinnaker riggin for my 14'er, but have yet to act on.

The weather has proven to be the worst of kin lately. I dont go out if the morning forcast is predicting 15-20 for the evening (10-15 yes). Then we race on thursdays(today), and dejavu, I hear thunder now. Maybe it'll move on thru. Makes me wish I had a bigger boat.

He is still getting used to sailing but gets verry dissapointed if he doesn't get to go. How are things up on the lake?

Boy its tuff when the dog watches as I pull away with the boat, then return smelling like the lake. That's why I never leave home without him.

To Happy Dogs, CHEERS!
