Hi Stu,
I had the pleasure of spending a few hours with Donna Lange last spring. I probably overstayed my welcome but I was so enthralled with who she is. An incredible interesting woman. If I make it back to Palm Beach and she is anchored there I will definitely take her to lunch or bring her something she might could use.

I don't think solo long distance sailor sleep. I've taken off shore trips of about a week with two people - but never solo. I don't actually enjoy solo very much - the sunsets are better shared and I don't actually like solo time on land very much - so I'm not the guy to ask.

If you do choose to sail South to Palm Beach on your April 4-12 trip, I will try to introduce you to Donna Lange - she completed a single handed solo circumvention a couple of years ago - and I'm sure she would share the secret with you.

Fortunately, there isn't much out there in much of the world - so I suppose you can sleep comfortably until seconds before you hit another boat???

Hope we get to sail together someday. stu@shearwater-sailing.com

Jerry, Only a few articles - most recently on the Gemini newsletter: Buying your new Gemini - about how to make an offer on a new boat. Have you written?

I am distantly related to a Scott - different last name, probably not the same person.

ASA instruction is highly dependant on the school and instructor. Different schools, different results. spend the time sailing - more value.

If you ever get to the West Palm area, I'd be happy to sail with you on the Shearwater - just let me know in advance.
