I though I added a comment, but it said it had to be approved before being read by everyone! How long does that take? I don't see my note.

Marlene, When you accept the "Friends" invite (as I hope you will), I'll send my cell # via PM. See you at Sandy Hook. Meanwhile, if I can think of any female sailors who might want to help you crew northward, I'll steer 'em your way.

Hi - I'm taping this out on my iPhone. My only access now. Lola posted a link re the salt water that is good. I would love to join you for some part of the journey. Will be on outer banks camping early part of June. I'll write more when I get to real Internet access. Bless you Marlene your adventurous spirit will carry you thru! And you are an inspiration. Orvil said it all well! Suky

Marlene... Think dachshund. Under 10 lbs. Doesn't shed (at least the short-haired variety). Tons o' fun. Can easily be scooped up in one hand to help with boarding the boat. When my current dogs are gone, and if I happen to lose complete control of my sanity, a wiener dog would sure work for me! P.S., love following the blog entries.

Hi Marlene,

I am in Annapolis, but unfortunately, do not have a boat to offer you a sail!

I would suggest though that you check out www.spinshseet.com, the website for the local monthly sailing magazine - they have a crew/skipper search listing and I do know of people who have come in to the area for just a day or two and successfully emailed a skipper and was able to arrange a sail.

I haven't stayed at any of the Bed & Breakfasts to recommend any, but I have walked past several that are right near the Naval Academy grounds and they look terrific from the outside!

If you are interested in meeting up sometime while you are in town, just let me know! I hope we have sunny days for you when you are here!

Stephanie

As a budding writer and boat shopper, I will be in Annapolis to work on an article I am writing as well as to acquaint myself with this historical haven for sailors. I will be in town from April 5 - 9. If you have any good ideas, including a chance to sail let me know.

What are the details for the safety at sea water demonstration? What is the exact date? Too bad my need to focus on my writing is so critical, though the safety at sea program might be helpful. Let me know. Thanks,

Hi Marlene,
Are you coming up to Annapolis looking to buy a multihull, or is this a pleasure trip for meeting up with Multi & other sailors? I haven't seen any multi sailors out on the water yet. Mostly it's the dinghy sailors, frostbiters and our big boat team.
Tomorrow we'll have 7 keelboats out for day 1 practice as a team.
4 of our boats are practicing for the Annapolis Safety At Sea on-the-water demonstrations for next Saturday. It will be a busy week with shaking the rust off & finding out what else needs fixing.
