Now that it is over. . .

Now that the International Sunfish Masters Regatta is over I have several thoughts. First, it is true that we become what we focus on. Second, perseverance is my strength. Third, I will win a major event. Perhaps it is a bit narcissist but I believe with proper training and positive reinforcement my dreams will come true.

The night before the regatta I feared being left behind at the start of the 56 boat fleet. This fear became a reality in all 4 our of 7 heats. The worst was…

Reality sucks

Yea, it is too bad I don't have any cheese in the house. Well, I do have some hard parmesan but who eats plain parmesan?. Guess I could heat up some spinach and sprinkle some fresh grated parm to enjoy a healthy treat. Unfortunately, I don't have an appetite. Seems like I have some kind of no energy bug that kept me on the couch all day. I couldn't even garner the strength to get dressed for work. Perhaps it is time that my 100% attendance at work ethic meanders down the path of I don't…

Focus, Marlene Focus

If one more person tells me to focus, I'm not sure what I will say. Anyone who has ever spent more than ten minutes with me undoubtedly will say, "focus, Marlene Focus." It's as if my name is no longer Marlene Anne Sassaman, but rather it is Focus Marlene Focus. On the one tack it is amusing as my challenge with staying focused crosses all that I do. Whether cleaning out my closet, writing an important report for work, cruising the Intracoastal Waterway, racing in a highly competitive regatta,… Continue

Now what, , ,

As I spend my days, two at least, cleaning out my home office, my hands are shaking. I have all this stuff. Stuff I don't know what to do with. Oh, I could spend money, rather borrow money, to buy some shelves to show off my life's collections, or toss, toss, toss, or sell on criag's list, donate to goodwill, or just sit here until as my mom would say until the cows come home.

I know I need to focus, to set a goal for the 2010 year, to plan for my finite future. Maybe it is the… Continue

Yanmar 4JH4AE raw water pump wear plate

I recently changed the wear plate on the raw water pump on the Yanmar. I have about 1675 hours on the engine and the plate showed significant scaring and wear. It was an easy change-out. After removing the impeller the plate simply sits behind it and is easily removed with a dental pick/ bearing pick/ or toothpick. I also added the Speedseal Life cover. Nice device. The wear plate made a difference. Upon startup after an impeller change before changing the wear plate  out, I would sometimes need…See More

"Larry, that's two of us that wishes you had posted your fix sooner. I just paid over $300 for a new tach, and that was at wholesale cost. I sent a note to James Taylor telling him about your LCD screen fix. Hopefully it works for him as…"

"Should have posted my fix earlier. I had the same problem with the tach on my 323 before I bought the 43. I was able to get the hour meter to work on the 323 by following the processes out on the web about cleaning the silicon & the ribbon…"

"After trying all the fixes I finally bit the bullet and replaced the entire tach unit. Other than needing to adjust the tachometer for correct engine speed it was an easy repair.  Mike"

"Hello Jo, I read the referred to fixes in the other forums and it was strange what people said. For me it looks like a bad contact in the connector as you say. I wrote my experience above (2015) and I must say that came to the previous state that…"
