"Hi Justin, the button on the image is to turn on the "silent" mode. This button turns off the fan while the batteries are charing, eg. less charge power when in silent-mode. Regards Frank"

Mike Brown replied to sail abroad's discussion Beneteau 40 2008 replacement rudder bearings in the group Beneteau 40 & 43
"Before you do that check all the steering hardware between the wheels and quadrant. There's a lot of hardware in the system that could induce friction causing a heavier feel to the wheel. I have a 2008 43 with well over 10K nautical miles on…"

Simo Makkonen replied to sail abroad's discussion Beneteau 40 2008 replacement rudder bearings in the group Beneteau 40 & 43
"I've been wondering, if I should do the same in my B40/2007. The rudder has become heavy (high fricton?) and the problem is not in the steering cylinder. Anyone had similar problem? Simo"

Mike Brown replied to sail abroad's discussion Beneteau 40 2008 replacement rudder bearings in the group Beneteau 40 & 43
"I'm a bit surprised you need to replace the bearings on an 2008. I've not heard of any issues other than early model 43s required a brace be installed at the quadrant. Actually the issue was discovered by Franc who happens to own and run…"

MAssimiliano replied to MAssimiliano's discussion foldng prop FOF on beneteau 40 in the group Beneteau 40 & 43
"Hi Michael, at the moment I prefer a Folding Prop due to better performance while sailing and also when "motoring". My gearbox has a ratio in forwarding of 2.36. don't worry... I'm not American....I'm Italian :-) "

Michael Boyle replied to MAssimiliano's discussion foldng prop FOF on beneteau 40 in the group Beneteau 40 & 43
"Hi, I have a Kiwi feathering prop on my Beneteau 43, 4JH5E engine. It looks small and blades are a funny shape but it works perfectly. They set the pitch depending on size of engine, will need to know gearbox ratios, and it has full pitch in reverse…"
