Share 'Rudder post support'

While surfing the net, came across a B 485 that sank with a supposed rudder issue.  Forum member NeilPride posted a picture of a bracket to support B40 and B43 rudder posts.  First I had heard of this.  Has anyone had this added to there boat? http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/f47/oceanis-485-steering-failure-160096.html
