About Me:
I purchased S/V Aeolus, a 1980 36' Cascade, after I moved to Seattle from Atlanta, GA for a three month nursing job. With no sailing experience I bought a groupon to take a sailing class and I was hooked. After looking at boats on the web I made an appointment to look at Aeolus and bought her - the first and only boat I looked at when thinking about buying. Three years (and a now a permanent move to Seattle) later I haven't taken her out of the marina where she was purchased. She's been a peaceful getaway on the water to relax and learn about the inner workings of a sailboat. Now, after replacing portlights, repairing rot, replacing all of the electric, fixing (rebreaking and fixing again) water and bilge pumps it is now time to tackle the engine (and afterwards, the navigation equipment). Any tips and tricks would be appreciated. Cheers!
