SV Aventura (Lagoon 37 TPI catamaran) will leave New Orleans Wednesday morning on a two month cruise along the northern Gulf coast and western Florida.  One of the best parts of cruising is meeting and talking with other cruisers, so if you see us in a marina or anchored nearby, please stop and say “Hello.”   We’d be happy to spring for coffee.

"Yep, I too have snapped a couple of the clam shell drain covers off. I have a couple of spares, but may or may not replace this time. The slack didn't seem to be the ultimate cause. Seems that wind/tide shifts and wake surge would cause the…"

"Sam, we are the essentially the same.  Using the same mantus bridle as you.  Quick question to you and any others using a bridle.  We had the bridle rubbing the sides of the bow in a recent storm and it ended up snapping off the…"

"On Longhawk we use a Rocna 20KG. I changed out the chain gypsy when new to one that handles 5/16 high Test chain. Then I went with 175 ft of 5/16 HT chain tailed with 200 ft of three strand.(overkill, but I had the rode as supplied new). For a short…"

Teak seat metal protrusions

All knowing list....I have a new question. My boat is 9 years old now, and the teak seats are beginning to have metal "brads" sticking up out of the teak. My teak has weathered, as I am of the  natural teak camp, not varnishing or oiling heavily. Has anyone else seen this? Did Beneteau use brads of some sort along with the mastic? I plan on taking a small grinding bit on my dremel tool and touching each one until they are no longer standing proud, then do a little light sanding. Thoughts and…See More

"Thank you James. I am really quite sure the trouble is in the in hose rather than the brown water out. The latest theory here is the wear plate between the impellor and the housing may be worn causing  loss of the seal which is the only…"
