at 0752, just minutes after it happend, that was theONLY word that was posted ANYWHERE.
snce then , there has been a bit more--like, was a production, not drilling rig. that it was not leaking or spewing. so far. tjhat5 it was vermillion 380, just miles west of the bp rig. but at 0752, merely minutes after the event, what i -posted was the ONLY word out there. i tuned in to wwl fm, NOLA for news. if you want GOOD info, go there. wwl, new orleans.

A sailboat crossing the Atlantic collided with a submerged object 600 nautical miles west of the Azores....This was one of my biggest fears last year when we did the crossing. I am so happy to see that everyone onboard is safe.

The Nantucket LightShip LV-112 , now owned by a museum group that will preserve her, has sucessfully sailed (under tow) to Boston From Aistoria.
She currently resides in East Boston , her New Permanent Home.
Hopefully Her Historical Group will be sucessful with Her Preservation, but
for right now She needs Volunteers and Of Course Money for Drydock.
As a former Coastie, I feel the Burning in me to help Her, and will travil to Boston on my Ship the "NOKOMIS" this summer to evaluate and help repair her Machinery.
This Vessel is the most Historic of all the Lightships and needs our HELP,
IF you can help in any way please do , as this is not only our Marine History, but our Herritage as Well , There fore if you consider yourself a SAILOR , please
find some way to help her that fits your capability. (SHE has aWebsite).
