Hey Sailorgirlca,

I had my fuel tank removed and washed out, dried and put back in...and extensive engine work....last year. I only use STARTRON for my additive now
Works so smooth now. I never will use BIOBOR again as it kills the critters, but their bodies are left behind to clog....you need to decide for self, for those that disagree.

Good tip....I borrowed a heat gun when I replaced the hoses from the head to the holding tank last spring. They were on sale here for 8.88.....should have bought one then.....but can borrow again or will get my own. As this is the original exhaust hose know it won't be easy to get off. It must be done tho as it's cracked & diesel exhaust is leaving residue inside the hull....

SG,, you might see if you can find a heat gun to help loosen the exhaust hose. They are a bear to get off.

This spring I have to replace the exhaust hose from the engine to the opening at the transom.......seems like an easy enough job once I get the hose off the fittings. It's the original hose so may be a bit difficult to get it off & the new one on. Also, plan to install GFIs in all the electrical outlets.....hear that's a fairly easy job. Then will sand the cabin sole and do a few coats of varnish to make it look nice. All the other jobs I haven't even thought of yet but the list is…

Going sailing tomorrow with Sailing Club Member...going to check rpm's...concerned as the diver could not get the prop off, and after he was hammering down there I have black smoke...when I checked in the slip ... it then went to white smoke.

I wanted prop off to spray Petit zinc paint on it. I needed bottom cleaned and had 2 zincs put on as well.

Feel free to chime in.

Get a Fortress or Danforth anchor. Can use for both the stern and bow. Easy to set, holds like crazy and disassembles for easy storage. Buy 8' of chain and 150' of anchor rode. Will hold in most bottoms.

Two stroke engines have a lot not like valves or oil sump...
Ok that is not totaly true they have valves.
Air enters the little engines through the crankcase. there is a valve at that entrance, so the air can't leave that same way again. It's most times a metal plate, that could bend or brake. Similar setup like the fuel pump on a two stroke engine.
